Some photos from NERYC last week. Kind of fumbled coming out of my first posture and was pretty upset with myself. I worked so hard to make progress this year and i really wanted to nail my routine. Right after I got off stage I didn’t want to talk to anyone and was beating myself up. After talking to friends and my coach and seeing my scores online I felt better and feel ready to continue to work on my practice in the upcoming year. It was so great to see everyone in the NE yoga community in one place sharing their love for the yoga and I love watching my fellow yogis kick ass up on stage!
Kev’s homemade “Chuna” wrap. Mock tuna made with chickpeas..recipe here. I used scallions instead of red onion b/c I have a hard time eating raw onion. Also used dried dill in place of fresh b/c I did not have any, added fresh chives from the garden. Used raw pickles and a GF brown rice wrap. The picture is not fabulous.. maybe I’ll try to get a better one up tomorrow ( when I have it for dinner!). I like this one alot better taste wise than the TuNut I’ve made in the past.
Red beet ravioli I made for a fancy Sunday dinner. Used left over vegan Alfredo sauce from Organic Garden. “goat cheese” filling taken from http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Beet-Ravioli-with-Pine-Nut-Goat-Cheese-Rosemary-Cream-Sauce-Aged-Balsamic-Vinegar-354390
I poped mine in the dehydrator for about an hour and a half to firm them up a little.
Just got back from a wonderful week at my family’s beach house in Maine. We had beautiful weather and as usual it went by much too fast. I went out to some of the rocks at low tide and took some photos for fun. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and with the waves crashing around me I discovered my mantra of that day ” I am as powerful as the sea”. I felt powerful standing on the rocks in my standing bow and I felt so happy to be in that place at that time, there is nowhere I would have rather spent my vacation, GRB4eva.
Hi compassionate ones! Even though I don’t have littles of my own, I’ve always loved & collected children’s books - it must be something about the imaginative illustrations & thoughtful messages that draw me in. Just recently, I learned about Ruby Roth, author of "That’s Why We Don’t Eat Animals", "Vegan is Love" & the forthcoming"V is for Vegan," & wanted to spread the word for parents, educators, & children at heart:
V Is for Vegan introduces the youngest of readers to the “ABCs” of a compassionate lifestyle through memorable rhymes & bright, charming illustrations. Readers learn the major vegan food groups as well as broader concepts such as animal protection and eco-friendliness. Sure to bring about laughter and learning, V Is for Vegan will boost the confidence of vegan kids about to enter school—leaving the old “apple, bat, cat” books in the “dust”!
Whether you order the books for your own library (as I am doing), or to inspire a young activist in your life, please support Ruby her your effort to spread the vegan word across all ages. Order your copy today, & better yet, the Young Activist Trio. We are never too young to make a stand towards what we believe in!
I wish I had someone to buy these for or I want to buy them for myself..but no kids at the moment, please and thank you
Went to Exeter NH this weekend to check out a new cafe. While The Good Karma Cafe has been around for about a year it has taken me that long to finally get my butt up there. And it was worth it! Yummy raw nacho plate and raw taco salad. Also The Good Karma wrap in GF tortilla and a BLT on GF bread with Tempeh bacon. Also sweet potato fries.
Progress on compulsories first photos from November 2012, new ones from today ( July 2013). Going to post stretching pose with some other postures next post. Hoping to continue to make progress before October Regionals.
